Treatment for Corns at MAC Foot Clinic

Indication of zones where corns may occur

Pressure causes blanching to the skin as blood is excluded from the local area. Loss of blood supply to skin will result in no nourishment, oxygen, repair or growth materials causing the skin to die. The dead skin dries and hardens forming a mass of dead skin cells (a corn). This hard mass is pressed into the tissues by continuing pressure causing pain and trauma.
